Black and minority ethnic women experience unemployment rates of around 8.1%, while unemployment among white women stands at 2.8%. While the new data is alarming, it sits against a wider backdrop of a decade’s long trend of high Black unemployment rates, which has devastated Caribbean communities in particular.
