Industry groups are unable to put an exact figure on the number of illegal workers currently in the field, but Mr Mahar believes its a concern which spans the length of the country. A new three-year report examining challenges in the industry has found cheap labour provided by illegal and undocumented workers continues to undermine the integrity of some corners of the business.
