The film sector is estimated to support up to 70,000 jobs and is worth up to $3.6 billion to British Columbia's economy annually.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists , Hollywood’s actors union, reached a tentative deal with studios on Wednesday to end its strike, bringing an end to months of labour action that ground the entertainment industry to a halt.
