Alongside their own products, the team at Scorched Earth have also put a firm focus on showcasing other local artists.

A Co Down man has paid tribute to his inspirational dad as he follows in his footsteps after launching a graphic design business specialising in laser engraving.

He said: "We decided we wanted to make wooden maps and bought ourselves a laser. We spent a few months learning how to use the machine and then in December 2019 we ran our first market stall, which was a success.""It gave us time to work on our product range whilst also making face masks for care homes. When restrictions were lifted, we were able to start doing pop up markets again with companies like Urban Events NI, NNGC and Bangor's Art on the Rails," he added.

"Sadly two years ago we lost him to dementia but he has always been my inspiration and now I am following in his footsteps," he said. "We also sell gifts like cheese sets, wine boxes and hip flasks that can be easily personalised, making truly unique gifts for your loved ones. "We also stock and showcase unique products from local artisans like Saskia from Fiddle Fig, who makes earrings using polymer clay. She takes a sustainable approach to design so little goes to waste and any excess materials are used in later work," Chris explained.
