Lucy Linford started Desert Island Dumplings out of her rental flat in South Liverpool

A woman who started her business with nothing but a gazebo is now appearing on Channel 4 programme Aldi's Next Big Thing. Liverpool-born Lucy Linford, who has lived in Ellesmere Port for much of her life, first started her business in 2020 after falling out of love with her day-job. The 27-year-old was living in a rental flat on Linnet Lane, near Sefton Park, after graduating with a Creative Writing degree.
