I miss my son that I haven’t seen for years or only be able to talk on the phone and I haven’t talked to him in four days because communication’s so bad back there right now that I don’t know the next phone call that I’m going to get. Is it a bad phone call? Is it a good, positive phone call?"

Edaire and his family live hours away from the Port-au-Prince, which is largely under siege, but the impact of the violence as reverberated across Haiti.
