JOHANNESBURG - Icasa has set its sights on opening up the pay TV market.in an effort to curb its market dominance.

Icasa's draft findings on the Inquiry into Subscription Broadcasting Services highlighted Multichoice's increasing presence in the video-on-demand market in South Africa.while it's streaming services DStv Now and Showmax, have an audience of 595,000, dominating Netflix's estimated 400,000. The restrictions, if implemented, could limit the number of Hollywood movies MultiChoice is allowed to buy the rights to.

Argh icasa has failed us dismally. Till this day we pay so much for calls and data and sms, yet we are supposedly the one of richest country if not the richest africa.

Where will this action leave the customers? Will services rendered become more expensive?

Since when? This are things that just makes one sad ......this is where the real capture is. Listening to that lady yesterday I could pick up the reluctance of opening up the industry but anyway this is what we have become
