A donut company which began as a stall at a farmers market in Brisbane has been awarded the best gourmet donut in Australia at the Baking Industry Trade Show. OMG! Decadent Donuts won four awards at the show last week, which was hosted in Melbourne by the Baking Association of Australia . It dominated the Best Gourmet Donut category, taking out first, second and third place.
“What’s made these awards particularly sweet, is that Baking Association Australia awards are ‘blind tasted’, meaning the judging panel of top chefs had no idea the winning donuts were free from gluten, dairy, egg, wheat, yeast, nuts and sulphates, vegan and also 100 per cent natural,” it said. OMG! Decadent Donuts was awarded for its cinnamon donut.
