Five gunmen allegedly accosted the visitors at Viva Foundation School and robbed them of personal belongings including laptops, cellphones, cameras, passports, plane tickets and US Dollars.
Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela has tasked a team of detectives to find and arrest a group of five gunmen who robbed visitors at a school in Mamelodi, east of Pretoria. Police say a group of 19 international students and two Professors, who arrived at Viva Foundation School for an outreach programme, were robbed on Monday.
The gunmen allegedly accosted the visitors and robbed them of personal belongings including laptops, cellphones, cameras, passports, plane tickets and US Dollars. An employee of the school was assaulted by the robbers, while a member of the public was struck by a stray bullet as the suspects allegedly fired shots randomly while they were fleeing the scene.
