Michelle McClurg has been wondering for over 15 years if the government was going to knock down her house due to the public acquisition overlay on the area.

Melbourne dog trainer Michelle McClurg was excited when she purchased her Punt Road home in 2007."The location is like nothing else. It's so central," Ms McClurg told 7.30.

The government envisaged a need to widen Punt Road, but 70 years on the busy arterial remains untouched and no project is on the horizon. Dr March says governments must weigh up the public good of an infrastructure project and the individual's rights. The business is located on one of hundreds of properties acquired by the South Australian government for the final stretch of the 78km North-South Corridor freeway.
