THE Rivers State Police Command on Monday paraded one Kelly Nwogu, Managing Director of Livelihood Homes Limited, aka ‘The Villa’, for allegedly defrauding 494 land buyers of N800 million.

It was gathered that while the suspect collected money from the unsuspecting land buyers, he could not provide them with any parcel of land several months after which led to his initial arrest.

He said, “I have called you here today, essentially to let the world know that we have come to the logical conclusion of our investigation in the case of advance fee fraud reported by one Nwankwo Orieagu ‘m’ and 493 others against Kelly Nwogu, the Managing Director, Livelihood Homes Limited, aka The Villa.

“He will be arraigned at the Federal High Court immediately after this briefing on 494 counts as contained in Charge No, FHC/PH/399C/2019. His arraignment is in compliance with the statutory requirement and the need to set the trial in motion, having established a prima facie case against him.”
