BlackRock, the massive asset manager in charge of $7 trillion, will ditch investments that it considers a sustainability risk, including thermal coal producers

— part of an effort to put sustainability at the center of its approach to investing."Awareness is rapidly changing, and I believe we are on the edge of a fundamental reshaping of finance," CEO Larry Fink said in his widely-read letter to other chief executives released Tuesday.Fink predicted that significant changes to how capital is allocated globally are coming, and"sooner than most anticipate.

This is late, but it’s huge!

Yes, I only know one bubble head that thinks coal is a good investment, Go. Bernie 🕊

What about all that CleanCoal we were being sold?

Another manager will pick up these assets.

$7,000,000,000,000 😐 I hope they are earnest in this.

Don't confuse them with a company that has moral standards..please. Coal profits are declining because of us...they are merely concerned with profit above all else...

Good going BlackRock!

benjaminwfelix very interesting, wondering if this is a sign of thing to come for other large asset managers and large pension fund.

Even in Europe? We have some _FriedrichMerz here who often does not yet seem to understand the impact of CO2.

If BlackRock is getting out of coal, shouldn't it change it's name? BlackWindmill? SunnyPanel? YellowCake?

Will it make alternatives cheaper. Or make the cheapest power source more expensive.

We need more companies/people willing to put their money where their mouth is. Thank you BlackRock. ClimateChange is real & we must all take action to stop It

LOL And you think they really care? LOL Folks it is about 'asset gathering'. Nothing more. If they think they can sucker a few more people into handing their money over to them by virtue signaling then they do it. They could care less about thermal coal. It's about making $$

As world goes down the toilet with climate change, who has the most to lose but the extreme wealthy and giant corporations. While in the end, these efforts are already too late, I guess it has to start somewhere.

The fact that someone putting HUMAN EXTINCTION over money is considered amazing news supports my misanthropy even more. Unreal.

please help me! My name is Lin Donglong and I am an employee of Fuzhou Branch of China Telecom. Cruelly persecuted by the evil and evil gangs led by company manager Huang Fei (member of the Chinese Communist Party) for a long time:assault, and framed me for nude photos.

Glad I ditched BlackRock stock.

Thanks for another BlackRock, the massive asset manager in charge of $7 tillion, update.

BlackRock is no dummy. Trump treats his voters as dummies and fools. If Trump was smart he'd come up with solar programs for folks in Pa, etc. which create employment opportunities. God's sun shines in Phoenix, Miami, Pittsburgh, Charleston, etc. 😉

So they are selling all their China investments then? Yea right.

And still find excellent quality stocks that do....
