Unemployment is at its lowest level since 1974

Employment jumped 208,000 in the three months to November to a record high of 32.9 million, beating the previous peak of 32.8 million achieved in the quarter to June last year, figures from the Office for National Statistics showed. This was ahead of an expected 100,000 rise.
