Mark Zuckerberg: 'My goal for the next decade isn't to be liked but to be understood'

with some thoughts for the new decade, stressing that the social network would focus on better communicating with the public, even if it means ruffling some feathers.

"Because we wanted to be liked, we didn't always communicate our views as clearly, because we were worried about offending people," Zuckerberg said. "This led to some positive but shallow sentiments towards us and the company." But now, he explained, Facebook will focus on communicating more clearly what the company "stands for."Facebook has been beset by scandals in the past two years, with critics blasting the company for enabling the spread of hate speech and misinformation, and for violating user privacy. An evil talking lizard will never be understood

How profound🙄

Understand aka kosher

techinsider I dont need 10 years to understand that FB is slowly taking away our privacy rights.

You don't have to be liked to be successful but it certainly helps!

🙄

Just delete your Facebook account and you'll quickly learn how irrelevant he is to your life.

I don't use Facebook anymore and never will!

No way he wants to be 'liked.” That haircut suggests as much.

He looks like Iron in advanced warfare 🤔

Something unnerving about this guy. Cant put a finger on it but he makes me very uncomfortable. Not sure if its him or me?

techinsider anyone if the bargaining position is high can be greedy because the ultimate goal of his life is only the world

Lol. He just called a few billion people stupid.

Irony! The man who popularized ‘likes’ prefers understanding.

Nobody can understand that haircut. FAIL

Wht if he died in a accident after 2 years..too long planning

Se le ve triste

No problem. You are already hated.

We already understand you so we don't like you

🤔 I thought that in this society ‘blending’ (losing individuality) & being liked (losing individuality) was ‘necessary’ only for the ‘regular person’ & for a very hated-famous-president... 😂😂😂

Great! We need understood button then

I think Everyone already understands him. That's the problem.

Se parecen.

Yes. GTFO Facebook. Just get Off now. It’s abusing the power we give it. Or have it in my case. ^_^

We understand greed and self importance.

techinsider Get off Facebook and join Twitter

Well maybe he should pull his skin back and show the robot underneath

Half way there.

Sym Mark

Sounds like something an alien would say

I've never heard Warren Buffet talks about his personal goals or public image as part of his professional game plan

SAI I understand your website profits from weaponised propaganda. And I don’t like you.

SAI He can't have being liked as a goal (given his entire life has been at best hugely indifferent to it) and I don't believe he wants to be 'understood'; to the contrary, he wants to be perceived in a way he finds amenable to him. controlledmisunderstanding

SAI Facebook the college platform.

You have succeeded Zuckerburg, America does not like you already. You are willing to give others the ability for treason and infect our country with the worse scum ever. It is all about GREED Zuckerburg, no morals, very disappointed!!

The same shit, mother...

That's exactly why I deleted my Facebook account. 🙂

techinsider 🙄 🤦‍♂️ FFS! DeleteFacebook

Hmm

Yeah, well FuckZuck and his desire to be understood.
