BUKIT MERTAJAM: Eight men were charged at the Magistrate's Court here with trafficking close to 5kg of methamphetamine.

Ooi Chieng Sim, 51, a company chairman; Jackson Boh Khim Hean, 33; together with five Myanmar men and a Chinese national were charged with trafficking 4,980g of methamphetamine at a warehouse in Prai on Jan 16.

They were charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a mandatory death penalty if convicted.
