Airline companies are readying the launch of their respective local promotion campaigns to give Filipinos the chance to “see the world in the Philippines.”

Deputy Speaker and 1Pacman Partylist Rep. Mikee Romero said leaders of the tourism industry agree with President Duterte’s call for an all-out campaign to boost the industry by inviting Filipinos to enjoy local tourist spots, especially while the COVID-19 danger continue to threaten parts of the world.

“Our country s has more to offer in fun and excitement when it comes to tourism. Aside from these, Philippines is COVID-19 safe because of government has imposed strict measures to keep it free from this scourge,” explained Romero. Romero revealed that Air Asia will unravel its fare promotions in time for the summer. Romero is the majority owner of the airlines.

“We want Filipinos to enjoy and see the world right here in the Philippines. It’s the safest and healthiest way to go places,” Romero stated.Air Asia was quick to the draw as it offered 22 percent discount during a booking period that will cover February 17 to 23. Travel period for the promotion will be from February 24 to September 30, 2020.

The House official disclosed that aside from airline firms, all stakeholders in the tourism industry are expected to launch promotional campaigns that will encourage local tourists to visit and enjoy local scenery.
