Janu, a new brand from Amanresorts, focuses on 'human interaction, playful expression and social wellness.'

. Even their handful of urban retreats, like Aman Tokyo, are pin drop-quiet oases amid all the city craziness. Janu, however, wants to embrace an energetic vibe—and therefore a younger audience. There will be a strong focus on human connection: think group offerings like art tours, hosted wine tastings, and cooking and yoga classes. Their restaurants and bars aim to be social hubs, with open kitchens that allow diners to glimpse the cooks.

The first Janu will open in Montenegro in 2022. It’ll be followed by one in Al Ula, Saudi Arabia, and Tokyo, Japan. Janu locations will be set at a more affordable price point compared to their sister properties—following in the footsteps of luxury brands like The Ace and 1Hotel, which also have more millennial-friendly
