The spread of Covid-19 is adding to the economic worries of many companies, but it is brought an unexpected bonus to a Co Limerick company that makes face masks

Irema is a small manufacturing company based in Killmallock, Co Limerick for over 30 years and employing 45 people.

But its supply chain has now collapsed as China struggles to meet even its own needs for surgical masks as the numbers diagnosed there are so high. The company has taken on an additional 15 staff, and expects to take on and train another 15 to meet this surge in demand and to keep production going. "The Chinese supply chain has been crippled by the expanse of the corona virus there and they simply can not supply Europe anymore, and we are now filling that gap," Mr Rice said.

Czechia have made face masks compulsory for going outside. 2 deaths for 8 million people. Slovakia same and zero deaths.

So this worker uses bare hands and no face mask. Hmmmmm hygienic?! All it takes is 1 sneeze into that handful of masks........

Watch this it's on euro news now

'Even in the worst of times, someone turns a profit.'

You see its not all bad. Silver lining. Yay! (yurt' boy da kid) for County Limerick.

Those masks won’t save you

So let me get this straight. Face masks are only useful if you don’t want to spread a virus like covid-19 but pretty much useless if you’re trying not to catch a virus?

I’m never eating pasta again

Are they being sold here?
