Employers' group Ibec and the Confederation of British Industry have issued a joint call to the UK and Irish governments, along with the devolved administration in Northern Ireland, to work together and co-ordinate their efforts in emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic.
But they added that they have every confidence that the economies north and south will recover over time. They said among the most immediate concerns is the integrated supply chains for essential goods like medicines and agri-food.
