Most restaurants get by with pretty razor thin margins. I truly have wondered what is going to happen. A server or bartender job has always been a decent option for someone without a degree or specialized skills, maybe not so much now.

How have diners lasted so long?

Sounds like it's time to give up and close the doors. Unless you can sell out to a chain or something

Sorry for anyone owning a restaurant, but this is unavoidable. Going out to eat is an option that looks pretty stupid to many right now.

Prices are going up...typical Dem nonsense...force the ridiculous & then expect the businessman to suck up what it causes...to them it doesn’t matter we pay them enough added to their expense accounts they will be fine! When will Americans realize & stop putting them into office?

You could, oh, I dunno, raise prices? Lower supply. Same or equal demand? Prices rise for those who want to go out?

One can't make a profit when one is dead either...

This is news? You think people don’t know restaurants operate on a pretty thin margin?

I am take out only until summer of 2021. Sorry Dani.

This election will not be based on sexual assault allegations, being an ass by tweeting too much, or an undivided Democratic Party. Voters who are employed, furloughed, unemployed or own businesses will vote for the one with the experience and capability to bring back the economy

Do take out and half seating. No excuses, think outside the box.

This is and has been from the beginning unbearable for the mom and pops.

I'm calling bs on those numbers

Why is everyone over thinking this? When it rains we use an umbrella, when it snows we wear boots. Things to protect our bodies. Now we have something new to protect us from, thats all. Mask/shields, and gloves. Wash hands. Those who dont get frostbite...common sense.

Seems to me if we all want to experience having dinner out, we should expect to pay more for that experience for just that reason. Until this passes for good all will have to pay a price.

Restaurants is one of the few businesses where customers cannot wear masks. When you have a number of people in the same confined space, regardless of 6 feet of separation, people can infect each other.

The economic model which barely sustained restaurants in the past will probably not work. I envision a future with thousands upon thousand of food trucks roaming the streets, and only a smattering of exorbitantly priced restaurants opened.

THESHUTDOWNISSTUPID

Losing your business is the price you will have to pay for the safety of all.

Most of a restaurant’s operating cost goes to rent. I think that landlords are going to have to adapt to what the market for their spaces can afford to pay. If one closes, they’re not going to find a tenant that can pay as much, if at all.

The NRA displayed this image on their Twitter page and should be seen as a terrorist threat against the US President. They also said, 'Who wants one.'

Everybody knows this. Except The Emperor Trump. He's not really into the 'details'.

The democrats will be happy to see all business fail so we can become a nanny state

In Toronto where I live, the most diverse city in the world where over half of us were born elsewhere, our restaurants are how we share our cultures and they’re so deeply embedded in the soul of this city. It’ll be devastating to see so many close down.

Restaurants are not part of our critical infrastructure. What's our collective obligation to them going in the old format? Give the employees decent unemployment and the proprietors low interest loans to help rebuild more profitable facilities after the pandemic.
