Trump says chokeholds by police sound 'so innocent and so perfect' but that 'generally speaking' the practice should be ended

President Donald Trump speaks during a roundtable discussion about "Transition to Greatness: Restoring, Rebuilding, and Renewing," at Gateway Church Dallas, Thursday, June 11, 2020, in Dallas.President Donald Trump on Friday somewhat defended the practice of chokeholds by police, but also said that "generally speaking it should be ended."

But Trump appeared to suggest that chokeholds might be permissible in certain situations, such as if police are outnumbered. "I think the concept of chokeholds sounds so innocent and so perfect," Trump said in a Fox News interview.

Funny that you omit the rest of the sentence. “...Seems so innocent and so perfect when it’s 1 on 1, now if it’s 2 on 1, that’s a little bit of a different story...”

But fr who is this guy?

‘Innocent and perfect’. So much to unpack in those three words. Even a criminal psychologist would think twice about it.

How the hell did they ever sound 'so innocent and so perfect'? This guy needs to be put down!

Born with foot in mouth

Anyone able to explain what‘s “innocent” or “perfect” about ‘holding’ or ‘choking’? Or how the combination can be “innocent” or “perfect”?

when the police are outnumbered, choke holds especially don't make sense. while a cop is completely occupied with both hands and full body choking somebody, he's wide open to have things smashed over his head. how does this idea make any sense at all?

He just spews words. There's no thinking involved.

Such a mush mouth. It blows my mind people listen to this stuff and conclude he is in anyway intelligent.

Just like he and half America takes pleasure when black people are killed
