'I rearranged the place and invested in items that would keep me safe and busy at home, while also saving thousands of dollars'

Ditching the coworking spaceI've been self-employed for five years, and after spending the first few working from my couch and local coffee shops, I decided last year to splurge on a coworking membership. Since I couldn't afford to pay for a private office in one of these spaces I used a service that lets you access the shared areas of coworking spaces for a monthly fee that's based on how often you want to use your membership. My costs for the first year came out to be over $900 .

The moment I started making enough cash to be able to pay my essential bills on time I found myself splurging on gym and workout memberships. Keeping in shape and having a place to workout meant a lot to me and was worth the price tag, even though it was one of the most expensive things I spent money on monthly.

I purchased a set of weights, leg bands, a medicine ball, and a yoga mat for less than $150. I decided that for the rest of the year, to save over $1,000 and stay safe, I'll be clearing my living room floor and using the area as One of the biggest habits I've started to kick this year was my laziness around using my kitchen and cooking my own meals. I would roll my eyes at how big my credit card bills were and how most of the spending came from eating at restaurants or getting takeout.
