Sibu Municipal Council chairman Clarence Ting said the council has equipped itself with 10 clamps for this purpose.“We want people to be aware of the consequences if they park illegally, ” he said.“The owners or drivers of these vehicles have to contact our officers or security guards at the first floor of the complex to remove the clamps. However, he warned those who damaged or removed the clamps that action would be taken against them.
On Covid-19, where the state is facing a second wave, Ting reminded the residents to be aware of their surroundings and take safety measures.“We must not let our guard down and take this situation lightly, ” he said.“Business owners must also ensure they follow the SOP such as recording temperature of customers and recording their particulars, ” he said.
