Lunaz hit on the idea of electrifying classic cars following rising demand for such conversions.

LONDON: A British outfit has started production of the world’s only electric Rolls-Royce cars.

The Rolls-Royce marque joins existing electrified classic cars from Jaguar and Bentley in the Lunaz portfolio. A 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom V has now completed the Lunaz re-engineering process. This includes ground-up restoration and the incorporation of Lunaz’s proprietary electric powertrain and a full suite of hardware and software upgrades.

Lunaz said it is making only 30 electrified Rolls-Royce Phantoms and Silver Clouds in the first production batch. The company claimed its customer base included"celebrated and influential institutions in the world".The electric Rolls-Royces are available for the global market. Prices for an electric Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud starts at £350,000 or RM1.9mil . Pricing for an electric Phantom starts at £500,000 .
