Sweden is moving away from its no-lockdown strategy and preparing strict new rules amid rising coronavirus cases

Sweden's health officials are set to unveil strict new coronavirus rules for local regions to impose. However, growing case numbers in areas like the cities of Stockholm and Uppsala have prompted a rethink.

Instead, the government led by Prime Minister Stefan Löfven allowed shops, bars, and restaurants to remain mostly open and students to attend school, to avoid a sharp second spike in cases later in 2020. It will give local authorities the power to strongly recommend people to avoid busy public places like shopping centers, museums, gyms, concerts, and sports matches. Swedes may also be asked to avoid public transport and contact with the elderly and vulnerable.

"Perhaps tomorrow we will have several talking about concerts or restaurants and then perhaps one could say, 'in Uppsala now for two or three weeks it is the Public Health Agency's advice not to sit in restaurants late at night'," he told the newspaper.

Please stop lying. Kind regards, 🇸🇪

Bull shit! Stop spreading lies!

What is your agenda by making things up?

Everyone in Sweden can attest to this being untrue. Fact check your journalism before making fools out of your publication.

Nope

This is just false. Why would you publish lies like this?

A classic case of how to make a mountain out of a molehill. This is very far from the truth. There have been discussions about making local restrictions during critical outbreaks/clusters. (face masks, quarantine of households).

You can't just make things up.

What? Totally wrong. 😱 You have misunderstood everything! 😂

No we're not. These fake news reports are getting absurd.

Why are you making things up?

I live in Sweden and yes, this is fake news.

No we’re not

markbspiegel Would be a weird timing (no new infections) 👇🏻

Click bait? This is not true

hblodget “unlike in other countries, there will be no fines or legal consequences for people who decide not to follow any new advice” imagine trusting the population with their own decisions

Fake news

Nonsense, still non-enforceable guidelines. The strict rules that already exists for gatherings and restaurants has been in place since March. Nothing shuts down, no one is forcibly isolated - just avoid crowded areas. You are not helping the discourse.

Busy 'pubic places?' *always* good advice!

FAKE NEWS....

They're moving from 'recommending' to 'strongly recommending' guidelines.

beckmansasikter CovidHoax

...except it isnt!

Nothing in press in Sweden at the minute ?

More fake news

Actually they are politely going to ask people to do certain things. Not a lockdown
