Human Resources Minister M Saravanan says Socso has identified cases of false claims, misuse of subsidy and will demand employers to return the funds. FMTNews Socso

According to the Employment Insurance System report, 2,713 SMEs went out of business between March 1 and Oct 30 this year.

As for the bankruptcy/insolvency of individuals due to the Covid-19 pandemic up to October, he said his ministry did not have the statistics as the matter fell under the purview of the Insolvency Department. Saravanan said Socso would suspend payments to employers suspected of making false claims until investigations on the complaints were completed.
