As we saw it, President Donald Trump's unprecedented attack on the fundamental pillars of democracy meant that anything less than a vote for Joe Biden was a vote against democracy.
The best argument I've heard for this perspective was at an off-the-record CEO roundtable on the subject I joined last week. Trump has proved the enormous power of pushing the rules that exist to the breaking point . Whereas his opponents are giving wide margin to an extra set of constraints that exist only in their minds. And we're surprised when Trump surprises us? We're playing checkers while he's playing chess — and also cheating with every move.
The votes themselves are under unprecedented assault. Never before has a president so unrelentingly abused every tool at his disposal to physically prevent votes from being collected and wholesale reject those that were. The job of business is to build a level, inclusive, equitable playing field for all of society to thrive in.
And I for one think this world — and the democratic nations in it that value free speech — would benefit if more companies forsook their misguided vow of silence, flipped on their long-quiet megaphones, and stepped in to defend the core foundation of the society that enabled their creation in the first place.
If I had been a customer I would have cancelled in a heartbeat. Hey folks...you still can.
Formulario de inscripción a la Novena de Talentos 386 EE 2020.
I stand by my decision to never support him in any way.
Guy just really wants to go back to bombing brown people, exporting manufacturing jobs to the global south and buying oil from theocrat dictators.
At first glance it looked like he was offering $10 million to customers & I wondered how to sign up...
I approve that message 😶
It was indeed the correct decision.
dbarrett Thank you!
