NSW business group calls for easing of retail distancing restrictions ahead of Christmas

The State's peak business body says it's time to "even up the playing field" and lift COVID-19 restrictions that still apply to retailers, especially in the lead up to Christmas. The State Government's allied crisis cabinet committee meets this morning. The NSW Health Minister yesterday hinted at the likely further easing of restrictions.

Damien Kelly from Business NSW says under the current regime retailers must adhere to the one person per four square metre rule, unless they are in a supermarket, or shop, that sells mainly food."Cafes can have one person per two square metres but next door's bookshop can't, and it's time we think, to recalibrate and make it even right across NSW," he said.

'Even up the playing field' is twisting the knife in, remember that thing called 'trickle down economics' that made the playing field very one-sided? And now Business NSW has a new Chief Health Officer too I presume? Yeah didnt think so! Santa needs spenders!!!!!
