I think the regulator is just grand standing as it doesn’t really care about big mergers. Its not like it hasn’t happened before. The average amount of big players in any market is 3 so, I’m sure they can afford to lose one.

Not sure how they could deny this when they approved BT and EE (both bigger companies). If they deny this merger they’ll need to break up BT and EE.
