'Cyberpunk 2077' with Keanu Reeves was 2020's most anticipated game. Now refunds for the broken would-be blockbuster are going out. What went wrong and how its rushed launch shows the game industry at its most cynical.

Extra lives. Deaths. They’ve long been part of games. But in our COVID-19 year, the games that resonated asked us to rethink how we view the end of of lives. But the decision to rush “Cyberpunk 2077" before the holidays also points to long-standing and underlying issues about how the mainstream industry views its entertainment. CD Projekt Red was aware of the game’s hiccups, even admitting that it failed to show how the title ran on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Instead, not having access to a PC that could run the game, we confined our coverage to an interview with Reeves. Wrong headline. 'how the Console versions of CP2077 botched launch..'. The game is perfectly playable on PC. A few visual glitches here and there but the promised experience is there.

This is one of the best headlines of the year.

Activision doing the same with CoD. Everyone knows Cold War is bunk and broken too. In pushing a broken game, they pushed aside one successful game in MW and its WZ franchise by forcing them to join Cold War for the Battle Pass.

good luck
