According to the charge sheet, the company, Raihanah Cold Storage Sdn Bhd was charged with allegedly using the halal logo without the relevant authorities’ approval on its lorry.

The accused, Rahman Sheikh Abdullah, 44 and his wife Raihanah Kasim, 42, pleaded not guilty to the charges in front of Sessions Judge Mohamad Haidar Abdul Aziz here on Wednesday .

The company committed an offence under Paragraph 8 of the Trade Description Order 2011 and can be sentenced under Paragraph 8 of the same order. For the second charge, Rahman and Raihanah, who are directors of Raihanah Enterprise, were alleged to have committed the same offence on a different lorry at the same time and location.

The offence carries a fine not more than RM100,000 or imprisonment not more than three years or both, while repeat offenders can be fined up to RM250,000, jailed up to five years, or both, upon conviction.
