to head the Treasury, will urge lawmakers at her confirmation hearing that now is the time to "act big" on another massive rescue package to combat the pandemic, according to a transcript of her introductory remarks obtained by Insider.

Yellen will also lay out the extent of the economic and human devastation the virus has inflicted on the US over the past year — and warn of another recession without a set of fiscal policies to address it. Her confirmation hearing is set to begin at 10am ET. Yellen will likely face questions on a range of issues including trade and tax policy.
