Theresa May blasts her successor Boris Johnson for abandoning the UK's 'global moral leadership'

May urged the prime minister to seize the "golden opportunity" presented by the Biden administration, who would be a more "predictable and reliable" partner than President Trump and appeared to make a veiled criticism of the prime minister's hardline approach to Brexit negotiations.

"For too long we have been sliding toward absolutism in international affairs: if you are not 100% for me then you must be 100% against me," she wrote. "We must reject a scene in which a few strongmen face off against each other and instead bring people together in a common cause." May had a difficult relationship with President Trump, who became a fierce critic of her Brexit deal, and she revealed that she "never knew what to expect" with the outgoing president.where May and the president held hands at the White House, the former prime minister wrote: "I never knew what to expect - from being offered, sometimes literally, the hand of friendship to hearing him question core tenets of the transatlantic alliance.
