NEW YORK - The U.S. oil industry is seeking to forge an alliance with the nation’s corn growers and biofuel producers to lobby against the Biden administration’s push for electric vehicles, but is so far meeting a cool reception, according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions.

The effort also reflects the rapidly shifting political landscape in Washington: the oil industry’s once-mighty influence has waned since Biden replaced Donald Trump as president, but the farm belt remains a vital and powerful political constituency. “This whole idea was going to have to take a whole lot of time to gel, but we have made some progress,” said Derrick Morgan, senior vice president at AFPM.

The National Corn Growers Association is also considering whether to send staff the February discussion, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Meanwhile, GM is seeking to go all electric by 2035.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM As more auto makers move into the EV market there won't be a need for this either, which leaves home heating oil, diesel for heavy equipment. Which have to be treated for use in cold weather. I'm not a scientist but I don't think there will be a viable market for this product

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Manipulators

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM they should learn to code

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM It’s time for Congress to act in regards to the Joe Louis law. Uniform voting across the country would work to allow everybody to have secure votes. we could make people feel safer about the election process No gerrymandering our districts but real comprehensive grass roots work

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Toxic capitalism at its finest...fuck the planet & the consumer for greedy short term gain…hope all these people drown when polar ice caps melt!!! fuckfossilfuels toxiccapitalism

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM The nations horse and buggy association team up with the whale oil group to lobby against motorized vehicles.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM The old doesn’t welcome the new. Understandable.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Maybe the corn growers should invest in a few scientists to discover new uses for corn

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Profits over people.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM The election was a fraud - you don’t have to buy the Biden lie Resist

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM profits before planet. profits before people. Go $America

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Shocker

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM It’s time for the U.S. to finally catch up to other developed nations in renewable energy, carbon tax, carbon credits, etc. No longer should any company make billions while polluting.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Covid is just one added expense of climate change... These idiots want to make a buck by costing everyone else far more.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM They are short sighted! Basically the writing is on the wall yet the can’t see it or the wall I guess

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM This one world devil cannot control us with petrol and diesel driven cars. His creating fake news to control us with electric cars. Every plug in linked to a central data base. Goodbye freedom.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Majority of electricity still comes from fossil fuels. Deap sea mining of the ocean for electric cars is not a viable option. Recent US lease to drill the Arctic which has no protections has not been scrapped either.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM They would be better off with wind farms.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Greed instead of progress. Sad.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Battery electric technology isn't there yet.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Could we not fight against positive change for just one damn minute?

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM This makes me want an EV even more.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Maybe they should focus on how to evolve and lead the march towards renewable energy...it’s the only way they’ll be relevant a decade or two from now.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Just because biofuels are renewable doesn’t mean they don’t produce CO2. Battery electric vehicles from a clean electric grid is the future.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Oh, FFS

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Yes because we must continue the mono culture while also, also flooding Miami and this is because diversifying an economy is just mythically impossible to so many.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Don’t forget $BLSP has the technology since the Obama years and it’s on verge of breaking out. It’s been getting so much attention lately. greenenergy

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM of course they are.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Well we can hold the oil companies accountable for knowingly exascerbating the climate crisis if they want to play that game. Exxon knew the sea levels were rising in the 70s and successfully lobbied to trick half the country into thinking climate change isn't real.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM You could shorten the headline to “oil industry and corn growers seek to kill off human life”

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Trump hasn't been jailed yet?

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Now that is real rich since big oil never liked ethanol and wanted to break it

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Or maybe just transition to a more sustainable clean energy

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM 😳😳😳

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM The oil and gas industry doesn't want competition.

JarrettRenshaw StephanieKellyM Ugh.

Usa sickness another levels. Killing hundreds millions cooperate with terriost and dictator s,nazi criminals. Money

Couple of months ago I came across a recommendation about DennisWilliam77 wealth how he helped investors to earn lots of money with their investments. and I decided to give a trial with the little I have. Now my little has turned into something great which was not my expectation

I hope the farmers are putting up wind turbines

Bitching bitching bitching. Can’t see opportunity in front of their nose

I guess the Oil and Gas Industry doesn't want to save the planet. Sad!

The oil era is over, done, passé!

Where did this alien (Biden) come from, the man who beats working humans?

We need to work for our environment and we stand with Joe Biden it is our responsibility to take care of our people not to put our papolauion in harm for few people’s benefits

Once upon a time, carriage manufacturers made fun of diesel cars and resisted them in every possible way. Were they able to conquer the future? Not. But part of the effort was wasted. Now it is time not to fight against electric cars, but to invest in them

We need to breathe clean and pure air, now. General Motors already announced. We want clean engines ElectricVehicles energy
