EndSARS protests showed 2023 elections won’t be business as usual — Ex-presidential aspirant, Emejuru

American-born Chris Emejuru was a presidential aspirant in the 2019 general elections. He speaks to TOBI AWORINDE about his passion for Nigeria and how he aims to lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty through his new foundationfoundation, Chris Emejuru Foundation, was launched in December 2020. How close it is to meeting its objectives?

We truly want to make a difference and will do everything in our power to make this happen. Urgency is required and with commitment, coordination and leadership, we will achieve our aim of empowerment, lifting many out of poverty. We are currently working on the amount budgeted to fulfill CEF’s project capacity. You also plan to give Nigerians electricity through solar power.

What is the thrust of your newly-published book, ‘A Pledge for the Establishment of a Sustainable Future’? My experience running on the platform of the ANRP was based on the ideals of the party, which I subscribed to. It was a party for the 21st century, focused on real empowerment, especially for youth and women development. At the time, it was the first of its kind, in terms of vision for a better Nigeria, according to its manifesto. It also boasted the largest base in the Diaspora by groups created through social media channels. However, it failed to penetrate to the grassroots within Nigeria.

I understand the three levels of government, however, I believe the Presidency is where I can create the most impact if or when I decide to run. I believe life is preparing me but God chooses your destiny. Everything is written.

The government defeated you in the protest, and they will do the same in the elections.

😆😆😆😆😆

80% of EndSARS protesters hardly vote on election day

The youths who were the chief promoters of EndSARS failed to make a statement during the Lagos East by electoral which took place shortly after the protests. That didn't give any indication that 2023 would be any different.

Get your PVCs, encourage your friends and neighbor's to get it. The more PVCs collected and the more people vote, the harder it is to rig

I doubt if 2023 will be any different, because, although the youths has the population and the technical tools to connect with their peers, there seems to be no sign of mobilisation and some of the youths are so dubious and irresponsible that I doubt their competence.

No it won't be, that nonsense has gone far enough, no more voting for old, corrupt and lazy politicians. Apc pdp pcp, ppp, ac, ad,anpp, klm, etf, cbn, nnpc---- 419.

Nigeria will divide before then

There won’t be any 2023

I'm sorry, these people will still do anything to get themselves in again

Nigeria elites only know how to speak English and criticize, they don't involve in electoral process. Lagos east senatorial district Election held few weeks after ENDSARS which could have been a better avenue to send signal to the ruling party, it was still a landslide for APC.

Ìt will be, just wait and see. The same hoodlums who joined the protest will be snatching ballot boxes for politicians, while the likes of you stay home and watch UEFA matches.

Rigged already

Suit and tie people🙄🙄
