The House of Representatives has called for the intervention of the Federal Government to provide succour for victims of the recent fire incident at the Katsina Central Market in Katsina State.
Also, the House urged the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment to facilitate “a well-coordinated intervention by specialised bodies” such as the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture. We’ll only allow 200 Nigerian travellers every two weeks, UAE lists conditions to restart flights
The resolutions were made following the unanimous adoption of a motion titled, ‘Urgent Need to Provide Relief Materials to Victims of Fire Incidence at the Katsina Central Market.’ “The fire started from a bank located in the centre of the market and engulfed about 2000 shops and has now left the victims with the challenge of how to restart their businesses without capital and shops.“The victims and their dependents will be demoralised if urgent steps are not taken to provide relief materials with sustainable measures that will rehabilitate the destroyed market in such a manner that will forestall further recurrence.
Fire gutted several markets in the East recently but Reps never discussed it.
