Sky News host Chris Smith has spoken about the importance of our coal industry with Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon and NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro, broadcast from inside Airly Coal Mine in New South Wales.

Mr Barilaro said the left and environmentalists try to make you think “80 per cent of Australians want to end mining”. “Yes we all want to do more on climate change but there is no climate emergency,” he said. Mr Fitzgibbon said we need to be “loud and proud” about our coal mining industry. “I believe the thermal coal industry will have life well beyond 2050.”
