Peeroj Thakre of ph5 said the city has already been looking at Gastown through its Transportation 2040 plan, but the business improvement society is “more nimble” and could do something quicker. So it did.

Wargolet said there are now about 3,500 people in the area, with a mix of market and low-income housing . There are about 550 businesses.
