KUALA LUMPUR: Nine stalls at the fish section of the Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) wet market here will be closed from Saturday to Monday (May 15-17) for cleaning and disinfection after a trader was infected with Covid-19.

Jenny Loo, chairman of Persatuan Kebajikan Peniaga Kecil Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr Ismail, said they received word that a fish trader and his family had been admitted to hospital for Covid-19.

"Since then, we have cordoned off the fish section and those who have come in close contact with the family have been asked to undergo home quarantine. "We are praying for the family and hope they recover soon," she said, adding that no one from the family had been placed in intensive care. The association also ordered all TTDI market traders and their helpers to go for Covid-19 tests at the Batu Muda community centre," said Loo.A spokesman from Kuala Lumpur City Hall confirmed that only the nine stalls at the fish section have been ordered to close, not the entire market.
