LABUAN, Nov 21 —The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries will develop the tuna fishing industry in the country with the active involvement of deep-sea fishing industry players.

He called on existing investors and industry players to open factories and operate tuna vessels, as well as to turn Labuan into a tuna hub servicing markets in Peninsular Malaysia and abroad. Malaysia should take the opportunity as a member of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission to send more fishing vessels to catch tuna in the Indian Ocean and encourage more tuna vessels to land in Malaysia, he added.
