ICYMI: Extractive industry receives new 214 engineers, geoscientists | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News

The minister, who disclosed this at the 11th induction ceremony of 214 professionals into Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists , in Abuja, commended the council for striving to discharge its mandate of continuous registration of professionals in the sector.

He also said diversifying the mining sector to make it sustainable to boost economic and create job for unemployed youths was the ministry’s focus. “Even fuel is not selling as it used to. This administration has chosen agriculture to revive the economy and diversify away from reliance on oil. There is no way you can develop sector such as mining without qualified professionals. So, COMEG is very important,” he said.

“ We are here today because of candidates that passed the examination. I hope you will be good ambassadors of the profession. You must practise within the ambit of the rules and regulations, under which you are inducted.”
