I'd be LESS committed to them if they required me to come into the office. I'd view it as hostile & would most likely quit. There's no need to be in an office. It's not free to come in. Many of us do NOT miss the camaraderie. People we work with are NOT 'friends' but coworkers.
Working from home should be outlawed.
