'I don't think it is penny-pinching. You can't just keep putting things on the credit card over and over and over again,' Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce said:

Barnaby Joyce has defended the Morrison government's decision not to provide financial support towards a $1 billion COVID business assistance program being brought in by NSW.

"What has been our guiding principle over two years, during this long pandemic, it has been that we will always put our businesses and our workers before the budget," he told reporters in Sydney.NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet said many businesses have "done it tough" over Summer.

"So what we want to see, rather than the Commonwealth government stepping aside, we want to see the Commonwealth government stepping in, like the NSW government is doing to support small business, and doing so support our national economy."

Barnaby Joyce is dealing with money provided by the Australian tax payers. It's not his money.

Even with recent interest rate rises the Government can still borrow at less than 2% p a for 10 years. Given an inflation rate of 3.5% p a it is literally cost less to borrow. Btw there is no credit card.

Where's the 'text report' Barney?

O rly?

After spending and spending to 1TRILLION Record DEBT, till the national asks for RATS for health monitor,he says oops NO, go away

After Morrison ensured his loyalty by paying off his $675,000 'credit card'.

How come that a picture of him triggers the same levels of disgust I have when I see Morrison

Besides, the rest of the Federation is a little sick of the additional billions in covid assistance that has had gone to NSW, all because they chose to be the leaders, whatever that meant.

But politicians keep claiming thier living away from home allowance even when they stay in thier own property paid for with NG tax rorts. Love politicians. No sense of shame or embarrassment. Just lecture you and keep taking from the tax payers.

The RetailPolitician that will not help retail workers.

How about you get Barnaby to reproduce his “drought envoy” report in detail, so that we can see who is “Penny-Pinching” and putting things on the Credit Card?

Whaaaat? After F35, nuke subs and even the tannnks?

BJ wouldn't know if his ass was on fire. Why ask him Qs he knows 0 about

From one who has lived on the taxpayer’s credit card most of his life auspol

Can spend billions on nonexistent submarines and spend 3.5 billion on new tanks but can’t fork out for Health hello McFly!!

Maybe recover it from Jobkeeper you crook.

Lucky WA is supporting the rest of the country. Three cheers for WA..

20 billion dollars pandemic money handed to corporations and billionaires who didn’t need it…that is waste

Oh, I'm sorry. So that is what normal people do whose wages (unlike yours Mr. J) don't keep up with inflation. They have to use a credit card! I wish I had an ATM called THE TAXPAYER like you.

sorry but who just dropped 50 billion on the great barrier reef when they are facing an election?

A top operator. Why is SBS publishing Murdoch's SKY propaganda?

Says the guy who spent $675,000 as a ‘roving drought ambassador’, for which all we got back was a text message he refuses to release.

Who better to give financial opinion than this ex rural *accountant* ?

Coming from the most debt laden government in history. Biggest myth in politics is the liberals lower debt and deficits.

'It just goes on and on'. Well so does the pandemic!!

Particularly when your government is responsible for $1T debt bettereconomicmanagers

Says the government that has racked up the biggest debt in Australian history even before COVID struck 🤡🤬
