Magalona admitted that while several business were closing down — she remained unfazed and used this as a motivation to fulfill her dream of being a coffee shop owner.

But after a few days, business was starting to wind down. Magalona, who described herself as an “aggressive” person and not wanting to give up on what she started, continued to post her ads online and signed up to a food delivery service app to reach more customers.coffee, and then it gained a few engagements. When the coffee shop’s first physical store opened on Oct. 21, 2020, it was co-leased with a franchise of a food stall that sells shawarma. Through the operators of the food stall, But First, Coffee was able to open its second branch in Muntinlupa. By the time the fourth branch was opened, Magalona resigned from her job in the software company as she decided to focus on her business.From starting as a small online business, But First, Coffee ventured into franchising and grew more. It now has stores from Araneta City, Cubao to Santa Maria, Bulacan – the shop’s 15th branch – and still counting. Magalona said she earns P15,000 to P20,000 in a day, per branch.
