Researchers from UofRegina will be receiving US$500,000 from the NFL to fund a cannabis study focused on pain management and reducing the use of prescription medications in post-concussion syndrome athletes - via TheGrowthOp cannabis

In a statement, Dr. Patrick Neary, an exercise physiologist and the U of R professor leading the research, thanked My Next Health for providing the THC and CBD “as well as their groundbreaking functional genomics-based insights into chronic pain.”Article content

“We believe My Next Health’s platform will revolutionize the way clinical trials will be conducted in the future and we look forward to working with their world class team to make this research a resounding success,” said Neary. On its website, My Next Health says its work is focused on “the key human gene variations powering cellular pathways that impact human health. Our novel insights into genotype-phenotype associations have the potential to radically improve precision in health care and clinical trials.”

Dr. Richard Heinzl, the company’s CEO, said My Next Health is “excited to work under Dr. Neary’s exceptional leadership and interdisciplinary team to improve the lives of all of those who suffer from the effects related to concussions including chronic pain.”Article content
