Mayor blasts lack of addictions, mental health funding\u003B business group sees optimistic signs for the economy.

“We’ve had concerns about the potential development of a tent city. We have a record number of overdoses — and people who have died from overdoses, every single one of those people is a person lost to a family,” Clark said.

Clark also expressed disappointment at the decision to begin charging provincial sales tax on event tickets, saying Saskatoon’s hospitality industry needs time to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic before imposing added costs. Clark said he was less concerned about the city receiving less this year from the province’s PST revenue-sharing program.
