The South African Weather Service has issued a level four rain warning in different parts of the country. This means moderate to heavy downpours are expected to continue on Monday over parts of Gauteng, western Mpumalanga and Limpopo’s Western Bushveld.Tshwane EMS spokesperson Charles Mabas says, “We are monitoring low-water bridges that are known to be susceptible to flooding. We would like to call upon motorists to be vigilant and not cross any flooded low-water bridge. The Tshwane Emergency Service will monitor any situation and remain on high alert for any eventualities.

Meanwhile, Mpumalanga motorists are urged to avoid speeding and to keep a safe following distance as it is raining in most parts of the province. Spokesperson for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi has encouraged drivers to be patient and increase visibility by keeping their headlights on. “Most parts of the province are experiencing rains.
