Last year the Govt spent $62.1 million to buy the Heyfield hardwood timber mill, after the previous owners declared it was no longer viable. How do you all feel about taxes being used to destroy remnant native ash forest & buying a stranded asset? vicpol auspol
It has been for decades.
Sue0606 $10 million of taxpayers money gifted to the Eden chipmill. We are paying these knuckle draggers to destroy our forests and wipe out species. This is insanity and a disgraceful legacy for future generations.
Should have ceased old growth logging decades ago

Stop Logging in native forrest. Keep loggers out but then when there are no safe roads within the state forrest, control burns are not carried out and fuel load increase - then let the whole lot burn... great idea. Wake up to the reality before history repeats.

So not viable due to limitations on supply rather than value received for the product?
Just like the non-indigenous Australians still here taking land and air from Native Australians. Lest We Forget!
