The influential Salesforce CEO says politicians must be braver on climate and immigration policy, while innovators can ride financial waves to help save the planet.

Despite the significant investment in prime Sydney real estate, Benioff says the pandemic has changed the way he believes corporate buildings will operate, and also how he operates as a CEO.

As well as his home in San Francisco near Salesforce’s headquarters, Benioff is known to live for some of the year in Hawaii, and he says his attitude to the need for regular office attendance has shifted to a “completely different orientation”, due to COVID-19 lockdowns. “I was very fortunate to have a great partner for a while in Keith, but he retired, and then I was lucky that Bret was kind of coming up ... He is very well respected across the industry, and he comes from a different generation of technology development, which is very optimistic for the future of Salesforce.”

His management team were united in their disagreement and Benioff writes in his autobiography about his eventual decision to pull the pin on the plan coming after he fell over painfully and embarrassingly in the street on his way to a meeting with credit ratings agencies. His visit to Sydney came before Musk declared his hand in tabling a buyout offer, but after he had become Twitter’s largest shareholder.

Aside from his clear enthusiasm for ecopreneurship, Benioff retains a keen interest in the future of the typical tech start-up software sector, and sees plenty to like despite a shift in broader market sentiment.

Part of the problem has been the demise of good investigative journalism. Catch 22, people don't want to pay for news and then they struggle to understand what is true.

Every rich person fancies themselves a leader of the masses. Embarassing.

so, a billionaire is saying he wants the little guy to embrace more competition for his good paying job. Ok.

This guy is the one business leader with a political personality to go all the way to the White House. He should do it.

jimcramer CEO people should worry about stock price and the American people will findthe best way.
