“The closing of Knox Street is total madness,” he said. “You might as well put a sign up on New South Head Road: ‘You are now passing Double Bay, keep going, we don’t want your patronage’.”Credit:Property developer Eduard Litver, who bought the retail component of the Cosmopolitan Centre in 2018, accused the council of failing to consult the community adequately about what he called “the most important decision in Double Bay for the last 30 years”.
“That’s a bit of an outrageous question,” Gadiel responded. “As a lawyer I represent those two companies. This isn’t an inquisition where you get to [violate] legal privilege.” He said the names were publicly available if councillors wanted to look them up.
